I always figured that I would lose my virginity after getting into some sort of a meaningful relationship.  But as the years went on, I still hadn’t found anyone, and the idea of telling a potential partner that I was still a virgin became more and more daunting. So I finally gave in and ended up having sex with an acquaintance.  We hooked up one more time, but after that I never saw him again.  I don’t regret it.  I’ve had sex with a few other men since then, still none in serious relationships. I’ll get there one day, I hope.
